Our Adventure has Ended!

Our adventure has come to a conclusion. We have traved over 6700+ miles from the time we left Mercer, WI on 5/30/06 and returned on 6/19/06.

Mileage breakdown:
Bike: 300+
Train: 833+
Car: 3000+
Plane: 2570+

We would like to give thanks to all those who have supported us on our trip, especially our family and friends. We had a great time, and we would like to do it again in the future. Maybe not by bike, but it is a story we can share and an experience we will always remember.

Our goal is to keep this blog updated on a regular basis on what we are doing, and what we have seen. Pictures will be posted, and comments are welcomed.

Day 17 - 6/17/06

We started from our hotel in Seattle, WA at 10am and basically drove to the downtown area and parked the car and walked all day.....we needed the exercise since we are not biking lately!
Total Distance Traveled since we rented the car in Denver, CO on 6/11/06 is 2283 miles.
Today is our last day out west, we have decided to fly back to Wisconsin tomorrow. However today was really fun and very, I mean very relaxing. We went up in the Space Needle (photo on left was taken from the top of the Space Needle) and into the Science Fiction Museum, this was so cool we got to see Darth Vaders original helmet, Star Trek stuff and so on......just amazing! From there we walked a very long 10 blocks to the famous Pike Street Market Place, this was totally entertaining. Watching the guys throw the fish around after an order and they all yell some jibberish.....it was just so fun!! After lunch at the Market Place we did the totally Shawn and Amber thing....we went to the AMC theater and saw X-Men III, pretty good movie. Then we had a very nice dinner right on the docks with a great view of MT. Rainier in the backround. All in all Seattle has been very pleasant and we would definetly come back and highly recommend it to anyone! See everyone real soon!
P.S. we will continue to post more pictures and info from our adventure. Check back this isn't the end, although I'm sure you wish it was.

Day 16 - 6/16/06

Departed Castle Rock, WA at 9:30am and Arrived Seattle, WA at 4pm. Trave Distance: 2243 miles since 6/11/06.
Today was originally a very full day of sight seeing, unfortunately it was very foggy and overcast so we only made it to one of the three places we intended to go. Originally it would have been: Mt. Saint Helens, Mt. Rainier and Olympic National Park. Although due to bad weather.....obviously, we only went to MT. Saint Helens. As you can see in our picture its like only part of the Volcano. We drove to the Johnston Observatory, that's as close as you're allowed to the active Volcano. We would highly recommend this to everyone, it was amazing. However we wouldn't recommend seeing their 16 min video.....it was terrible, Discovery Channel airs a much better version of when the top blew off in 1980.
The rest of our day was spent deciding how we are coming home to Wisconsin. Stay tuned.
