We are at the public library in Dyersville, IA. Still here due to thunderstorms and heavy rain. The weather is suppose to be bad til 6pm tonight, so we have decided to stay put (at the Comfort Inn) til the storm is over. The weather is suppose to clear up for the next 3 to 4 days.....hot and sunny!
Last night Lyle from Della Crema Bike Shop brought Shawn's bike to us at the Hotel all fixed up. He fixed the broken spoke and replaced some of the ones that were a little too short that we had put in earlier this week. He gave us 8 extra spokes and provided recomendations on how to prevent future breakdowns. He also told us of a short-cut to Cascade, IA which will take off quite a few extra miles....which sounds good to us!

Sorry to hear about your spoke problems but dont give up. Of course I'am not the one that is pedaling my ass across the U.S. Keep up the good leg work and look forward to your next update.
